Aachener Strassenbahn und Energieversorgungs-AG (ASEAG) is a provider of public transport services in and around the city of Aachen, northwestern Germany. The Company operates 62 bus routes covering a distance of more than 1,100 kilometers. During 2003, ASEAG handled approximately 60.7 million passengers. The Company's fleet includes 237 of its own buses, of which 208 are kneel buses with low-floor technology. It hires 95 further buses from private companies. ASEAG's subsidiary, APAG, operates a range of parking lots and garages in Aachen. The Company has two further subsidiaries: ESBUS Eschweiler Bus- und Servicegesellschaft GmbH, which is exclusively engaged in the rental of buses to ASEAG, and ASEAG-Reisen GmbH, which operates tourism-oriented bus services.
